Santa Cruz is located 1.5 hours drive south from San Francisco/Berkeley/Oakland.
Public transit
You can easily get to San Jose via public transit from the Bay Area, but to get from San Jose to Santa Cruz can take a while (1-2 hours). We'd suggest ubering or carpooling for that part of the ride
Airports
SFO: 1 hour drive
SJC: 40 minute drive
Renting a car
We'd suggest renting a car so that you can easily move around (especially to the Sunday potluck that will be 40 minutes up north in Pescadero), but within Santa Cruz you can also get around by walking/bus/bike. And carpooling!

We had to make some tough decisions because of a space capacity on Saturday night (we're bummed too). But please bring your plus-one to all of the other events! Check out the schedule page to see the Friday + Sunday happenings :)
Our house: we have two guest rooms + beds, three comfy couches, two air mattresses, and a van with a comfy bed. We're happy to host as many as we can fit! We can probably host 12 people and be happy and comfy :) - stay with us!

May is cold in Santa Cruz! It'll be around 50°F, so come prepared. May doesn't have much rain, but it can have fog that usually burns off later in the day
Given our derelicte style, we will not be imposing any sort of dress code. Rachel will likely be wearing a skirt/top or jumpsuit (cocktail nice, but not fancy) with a large jacket (of course), and Diego will be wearing jeans with a nice shirt. Both shall be wearing sneakers (Rachel's will be white, it's a bridal tradition) to be able to dance all night. We want you to wear whatever makes you comfortable and ready to dance!
Kids are welcome at all events except for Saturday night! That one we are keeping to adults only :)

Sugerimos rentar un carro para que puedan moverse fácilmente (especialmente para el potluck del domingo que será 40 minutos al norte en Pescadero), pero dentro de Santa Cruz también pueden moverse caminando/en autobús/en bici. ¡Y compartiendo el carro!

Tuvimos que tomar algunas decisiones difíciles por la capacidad limitada del espacio el sábado por la noche (tampoco nos gusta). ¡Pero por favor trae a tu acompañante a todos los demás eventos! Revisa la página del itinerario para ver lo que hay el viernes y el domingo :)

¡Hace frío en Santa Cruz en mayo! Hará como 10°C, así que vengan preparados. No hay mucha lluvia en mayo, pero puede haber niebla que normalmente se disipa por la tarde
Debido al estilo del Pintor, no habrá código de vestimenta. Rachel probablemente traerá puesta una falda con blusa que ya tiene (linda pero no formal) y una chamarra grande (obvio), y Diego traerá jeans con camisa bonita. Los dos usaremos tenis (los de Rachel blancos, tradición de novia) para bailar toda la noche.
¡Los niños son bienvenidos a todos los eventos menos el sábado por la noche! Ese será solo para adultos :)
